One of the heart and souls of the neighborhood is its beloved organic grocery store. With a stellar location right next to the Greenpoint G train stop, The Garden is a bustling center fro good fruits, vegetables, and just about anything your stomach desires.
A prolific produce section starts of the journey. A massive table full of oranges, apples, and anything else in season is a colorful display to feast your eyes on. From there, the layout is typical of a grocery store, except everything is organic. With that comes a price, but hey, you have to pay for quality. A sandwich and deli section sits in the back, which takes orders on the fly. We’ve never had a bad sandwich there, and they are very filling.
One unique thing about The Garden is their odd assortment of herbs, spices, and generally things that are hard to find anywhere else. They also have a large section for foreign coffees from every corner of the globe. You can spent a good chunk of time exploring this place and find something intriguing every time.
The checkout is a bit slow, but definitely worth it for such a compelling grocery store. It stands out as a prideful spot in the neighborhood. Picking up fresh produce in the summer is a must. The healthy and colorful scene make it a must visit in Greenpoint.
