Grabbing a coffee before hopping on the train is popular for a reason. Propeller is close enough to the G train to grab one on the go, and enough off the beaten path to function as a quaint coffee shop. You can find it on Manhattan Ave. and India St.
There is limited seating available, but large tables grace the front. The large window facade lets in good natural light to read and work in. The back section is more open and offers a very “homestyle” with magazines and tables perfect for getting work done or reading your favorite book.
The coffee bar takes up a lot of space. They offer many different types of coffee pours and seem to have strong knowledge of their beans. The service is quick and always friendly – you never need to wait very long for your order. There is limited food so do not count on getting a meal here. Also, it’s cash only.
Long story short – it’s a great bustling coffee shop that takes pride in their brew. Private enough to work, but not quiet enough to feel like a library. The price is right, too. Try their iced coffee.
