It’s safe to say Ovenly has garnered the most praise amongst the bakeries in Greenpoint. To start, it was named Best Bakery in New York City by 2013 Time Out New York Food & Drink Awards. Quite an honor for such a small kitchen. Located down by the East River off of Greenpoint Ave., it is part of a growing corner of the neighborhood.
This creative bakery excels in sweet and salty concoctions. A touch of salt to everything from cookies, granola bars, and muffins are a staple for this brand. They have carefully expanded their business to provide wholesale goods around the city – expanding their reach from an otherwise unknown corner of Brooklyn. Creativity thrives here. Where making the next ‘cronut’ seems to be the goal of bakeries around the city, Ovenly knows it doesn’t have to join that rat race. It’s already won.
Aside from award winning pastries, they have Stumptown coffee on tap, along with an indoor and outdoor seating area. It’s close to local favorites like Transmitter Park, so you can stroll around with your food and coffee in hand. The service is great – they haven’t lost site of their small business roots.
You will not have a bad item here. It’s nearly impossible. Not only that, but the food feels unique. They perfected their style of baking and executed it brilliantly. We’re proud to have Ovenly in Greenpoint, and hope they continue to please for years to come.
